What happens when you get aroused (horny)?
What is an orgasm?
How do you have an orgasm?
Each person's experience getting sexually aroused will be different. Sometimes you might get turned on really fast, by seeing a picture or thinking about something sexy. Other times it may take a longer time. Arousal for males and females is different in some ways, and similar in others.
When the body or mind receives sexual stimulation it sends messages to other parts of your body. The skin becomes sensitive, the heart beats faster, the genitals start to tingle, and the nipples become erect.
In females, genitals become swollen, sensitive to touch, and wet (making it easier to penetrate the vagina or rub the vulva).
In males, blood rushes into the penis and makes it bigger and darker in colour. The testicles also enlarge.
Remember that these changes can also happen when you are not sexually aroused... for example, it is true that guys can get an erection when they are scared, and nipples can become erect when a girl is cold.
An orgasm is something that can happen to both males and females when they masturbate, make out and/or when they have sexual intercourse. An orgasm is a series of muscle spasms that produce feelings of pleasure throughout the body. The feelings are hard to describe and everyone responds differently. It can cause people to moan or cry out. Orgasms usually last 5 to 10 seconds, although women can have longer orgasms or even multiple orgasms.
Not everyone experiences an orgasm the same way and not everyone has an orgasm every time they have sex. It is a physical experience but it is also emotional. It can make someone feel loved and/or vulnerable. This is one reason why trust is so important for people when they have sex.
A guy reaches orgasm (cums) by rubbing his penis, or through oral, anal, or vaginal sex. When a male has an orgasm he usually ejaculates a white fluid, called semen, from the tip of his penis. Most males don't experience multiple orgasms because they require a refractory period, a rest time, right after an ejaculation.
Girls usually have an orgasm through stimulation of the clitoris. This can be stimulated by a finger, a mouth, or by rubbing against another body. Some females also orgasm by having their vagina penetrated while having their clitoris stimulated. Other females have orgasms through vaginal penetration.
Girls are lucky because they can have multiple orgasms. This is when a first orgasm is followed quickly by one or more orgasms. Girls will have moisture in their vagina during sex, but they don't usually ejaculate a fluid. Some women do ejaculate and this happens when their G-spot is stimulated. The G-spot is the area of spongy tissue surrounding the urethra. You might be able to feel the G-spot by putting a finger and pressing toward the belly-button. Often when the G-spot is touched the girl might feel like she has too pee.
Girls may take a little longer to reach orgasm than guys. It is common for an orgasm to happen by rubbing or stimulating the clitoris, and not through vaginal intercourse.
